It's official!
I simply can't keep up with everything right now. So, I'm going to close this blog for a while too. I'm thinking I just might take the rest of the summer off.
I'm considering selling some of my photo prints, or cards made from my photos, on Etsy. When I get that all set up, I'll let you know.
Big hugs 'til next time,

pink saturday and a birthday
Happy birthday America and Pink Saturday! I didn't have any pink fireworks photos so decided to share flowers instead.
I can hardly believe it is July already. It's going to be a month of visitors for our family. Since my apartment is small, my "guest room" is my office, our guests will be staying at my son's larger home. Every weekend for the entire month is booked, including this one. Hmmm . . . perhaps we should have opened a bed and breakfast! All kidding aside, it will be an enjoyable month.
I've been shooting pink flowers again, and will share a few of my favorites with you. Pink Chintz (Appropriate for Pk Sat, right?) is a piece of a hydrangea bloom I stuck in one of my teacups. I don't know what the flower in the second photo is. Since it looks like a hibiscus I'm calling it Hibiscus ?. I found it peeking out of a huge bush in my son's yard. The edges were a bit tattered by the wind, but I thought it was beautiful anyways. Last, but not least, well . . . actually it is least . . . is a tiny clover bloom I shot as a macro. It's always amazing to me what the heart of a flower looks like up close.

Thanks so much Beverly for being such a sweetheart and hosting Pink Saturday!
For a list of other participants, showing off their beautiful pinkness today, just drop by Beverly's awesome blog, How Sweet the Sound, for a complete list.
Happy Birthday America and happy 4th of July weekend to those in the US!! May your weekend be filled with parades, fireworks, cookouts, watermelon and all those things that make the 4th so enjoyable.
'til next time,
Betty Jo

in the pink
I'm not only "in the pink" photographing pink subjects, but in general.
I just received an invitation yesterday to have a showing of my photography in the main branch of my bank! I've never done this before so I have a lot to learn and do before that can happen. My showing will be in a month or so when I'm all ready.
I'm excited about this new adventure!
Since I'll be too busy this weekend to participate in Pink Saturday I'll post some pink today. My friend Carolyn brought some beautiful pink hydrangea's for me to shoot. Here are a couple of photos from that shoot.

curb appeal
Here is my favorite from last Saturday's shoot. I processed my photo with Shana Rae's Florabella textures and overlays to give it more of a painted look: Memory, Painterly ll, and Pure Milk. Click photo for a better view.
